Powerful choices you can make every day.

By January 21, 2019February 5th, 2019Wellbeing

Every single wakeful moment of every single day we are making choices, most of which we take for granted while wishing for a better tomorrow. Below, we list some little choices that can make a BIG difference to your life!

  1. Set your alarm an hour earlier, or sleep in?

You’d be surprised how much that extra hour makes a difference, once you rip the bandaid off and get out of your warm comfy bed, you can spend your extra time however you please. It is your choice to ignore that alarm!

  1. Eating on the go, or a nourishing meal and time to enjoy?

Are you making time to give your body the nutrients it needs? Chewing your food properly? Eating regular meals? No time to cook and eat breakfast? See number one above. We suggest some meal prepping and planning on the weekend too, you’ll save time and money, and your body will thank you for it.

  1. The attitude of gratitude, or fear and resentment?

Making time to give thanks every day can be the difference between a good day and a bad day, your mood after doing a gratitude exercise will have a domino effect on everything else you do. So, what are you grateful for today?

  1. Me time, or ‘too busy’?

Are you actually too busy, or are you ‘too busy’ prioritising other people, saying yes to that invite when you know you’d rather be home with a face mask and a cuppa, ‘too busy’ cruising instagram for way longer than you’d like to admit? Seriously, if you have an iPhone and get your weekly screen time reports you know exactly what we’re talking about!

  1. Quality time or screen time?

Read number four again. It’s eating your time. You cool with that? Or are you ready to have more time for the things you love? Do you hear that word choice in your head?

  1. Convenience or savings?

Wish you could afford that car, holiday, or deposit, meanwhile always buying your lunch? Take a minute to think about that. Do the calculations over one week, one month, and one year. The small things add up to big savings.

  1. Exercise time or leisure time?

Both are valid and necessary, but balance is key – which one are you lacking? Schedule it in, set some reminders and make it happen.

  1. Early bed time or late night?

Seriously, number four and five weren’t enough, you’re in bed scrolling your socials, emails and whatever random weird internet hole you’ve found yourself in, again? Stop taking your phone to bed.

While you’re at it, say no to night time engagements that don’t bring you massive amounts of joy, you’ll feel AMAZING when you start getting that regular eight hours.

  1. Excuses or action?

How many times have you told yourself you’ll do it tomorrow, Monday, next week or next time? Choose today.

  1. Fight it or accept it?

You have no control over many of the things that happen in your life and there is no benefit in worrying about things you cannot change. Try to clearly delineate between the things that simply happen and the things that are a choice. Differentiate between ruminating and problem-solving. Spend that energy on the things that are within your control and suddenly the other stuff will feel much less important.
